INTRODUCING MARTINS BARN DANCE / CEILIDH PARTY!
For many years, Martin has been one of the most popular callers for Ceilidhs and Barn Dances, firstly in the Northern Home Counties, and more recently North Wales. He is currently the regular caller with busy North Wales ceilidh band "Twmpathology" and occasional caller for "Aderyn Prin". He also performs as a duo with his partner, Jan, for smaller functions.
If you are thinking of organising a ceilidh/barn dance/twmpath, there is nothing better than a live band to play the music, and If you can, I would strongly recommend this option (with me as the caller, obviously!). But I appreciate that this might not always be possible, through constraints in budget. time or space, and so I am happy to offer a smaller, more cost effective service to address this.
I have put together a collection of recorded music by some of the best ceilidh/folk bands in the country, chosen specifically for the dances in my repetoire, so I know that they will be fit for purpose. And they are played through a professional PA system, not a record player or boombox in the corner of the room, so you will get the effect of a live band.... but without the band. And you will get ME, just as you would with a band, with radio mike to enable me to call from anywhere in the room, although, as an award winning Town Crier, I don't always need a microphone!
Due to a recent hand injury, I can no longer play my squeezebox to a standard that I believe a paying audience expects, but I can call on family members to play for dances if you want a small band of one or two musicians to provide a live music experience without the expense of a full band.
I am very often already busy on Saturday evenings with one of the bands I play with, but there are some where I will be available, so do ask. I should be available to help you at most other times unless I am already busy.
Please take a few minutes to look through the pages below to see if a Barn Dance / Ceilidh Party is right for you, and then get in touch to discuss your requirements. I look forward to hearing from you.
